Young Horse Development Program
The NSHJA is excited to announce the Young Horse Development Program is back in 2025.
The NSHJA is looking to support our membership and their development of young horses by providing funding to horses that qualify at NSHJA shows in the Maritimes.
Eligibility requirements include:
- Rider and owner of the horse are 2025 NSHJA members
- Horse/Pony is 4, 5, 6 or 7 years old as of December 31, 2025
- Proof of age must be sent to NSHJA before the deadline of the show or funding will not be allocated. You only need to submit the proof of age once per year. Once it has been approved, it will be good for the season. Acceptable proof of age is: EC horse recording, registration papers, vet certificate. Email to [email protected]
- Horse must be competing at a minimum height of 2’6/0.75m as a 4 or 5 year old
- Horse must be competing at a minimum height of 3ft/0.9m as a 6 or 7 year old
- Ponies must be competing at their division height or pony development height
Benefits:
- The full cost (including tax) of one hunter division or 2 jumper classes will be paid directly to the show.
10 horses per horse show will be selected for funding.
