Young Horse Development Program
New for 2024, the NSHJA is pleased to offer a Young Horse Development Program!
To participate in the program, application forms for the show you are interested in receiving funding for need to be completed. Filling out an application form does not guarantee a spot in the program, applicants will be contacted by email with confirmation. 10 horses per horse show will be selected for funding. This program covers the full cost (including tax) of one hunter division or 2 jumper classes and will be paid directly to the show.
Eligibility requirements include:
- Rider and owner of the horse are 2024 NSHJA members
- Horse/Pony is 4, 5, 6 or 7 years old as of December 31, 2024
- Proof of age must be sent to NSHJA before the start of the show or funding will not be allocated. Acceptable proof of age is: EC horse recording, registration papers, vet certificate. Email to [email protected]
- Horse must be competing at a minimum height of 2’6/0.75m as a 4 or 5 year old
- Horse must be competing at a minimum height of 3ft/0.9m as a 6 or 7 year old
- Ponies must be competing at their division height or pony development height
